Male urologic conditions can include a wide range of issues affecting the urinary tract and reproductive system. Common benign conditions include enlarged prostates, hydroceles, spermatoceles, varicoceles, overactive bladder, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, and prostatitis. It is important for men to discuss any concerns or symptoms with their healthcare provider to determine the best course of treatment for their individual needs.

BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA

BPH, or benign prostatic hyperplasia, is a common condition in men as they age in which the prostate gland enlarges, leading to symptoms such as frequent urination, difficulty starting or stopping urination, and a weak urine stream.

Prostatitis is a condition in which the prostate gland becomes inflamed, leading to a range of uncomfortable symptoms such as pain in the pelvic area, difficulty urinating, and sexual dysfunction.

PHIMOSIS / BALANITIS

Phimosis and balanitis are two conditions that can affect the foreskin of the penis, causing discomfort and potentially impacting sexual function. It can often be resolved with medication. However, if it recurs, circumcision is a common surgical procedure that can effectively treat both of these conditions by removing the foreskin. In addition to addressing medical issues, circumcision may also be performed for cosmetic reasons, and can be customized to achieve the desired aesthetic result. 

URINARY TRACT & SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) can affect men's urologic and reproductive health. UTIs can cause symptoms such as pain or burning during urination, frequent urination, and cloudy or bloody urine. STIs can cause a range of symptoms, including discharge from the penis, painful urination, and sores or bumps in the genital area. If you are concerned about a UTI or STI, call the office today.

KIDNEY STONES

Kidney stones affect both men and women and can cause significant pain and discomfort. Common symptoms include severe pain in the back or side, nausea, vomiting, and blood in the urine. Treatment options may include pain management, medication to help pass the stone, or surgery for larger stones.
